After going through fitment problems with the Fluidyne in the RX-7, I ordered a new radiator from Ron Davis in September for the 8 and was finally able to pick it up.

This thing is quality!

RX-7 and RX-8, I see you like to live dangerously.

Omg. This is awesome. WE HAVE MOAR ROTARY ON OPPOSITELOCK.

Did you scratch the crap out of the center console with the box? Whats been done to the RX-8 or was the radiator going south?

Do you have a way to accurately measure coolant/oil temps? I'm curious as to what your change will be... also, are you going from an original radiator with lots of miles or something newer? Did you just decide to do it just because, or were you having issues? Sorry for all the questions but I have an RX8 that is slowly becoming a toy and I definitely have had cooling issues during autocrosses and such and the Ron Davis appears to be the only true upgrade you can do in these.. although a lot of people seem to believe that a fresh stock one is just as good(and keeps from messing up your classing in solo).

Yes they do. Although I would only let them change the oil on the rx8, for some Mazda dealerships this is asking quite a bit..

Since I'm in Phoenix it'll definitely be better in the summer when it's 110+. The plastic end tanks on the stock radiator are starting to show some wear after 68k miles so better sooner than later. I'll be monitoring temps with the Cobb AP.

It's actually hard to say, the 8 is pretty much light years ahead of the 7 but it gets no love.

Nah, it was resting on more cardboard. The plastic on the stock radiator is starting to show some wear after 68k.

Cot damn plastic.

Reminds me, I'd totally own another 8 too. Ours ironically had near the same mileage when we traded it in.

What are your normal temps? And I laugh at your 68k miles!

I read that as STR anded. Momentary confusion was cleared up after reading the rest of her board.

I think we're at the point of doing mandatory compression checks on RX-8s that come in for just oil changes. 50% of them won't restart after being dropped off from being flooded/having low compression.
